A Mother on the Front Line
“When I first came to Ireland I worked as a housekeeper in a five-star hotel and I progressed from there. I began training newcomers and then I was given the opportunity to move to accounts which I accepted. I learnt a lot in my one year there.”
“Just as I was getting into my new role, the pandemic struck. It decimated the hotel trade and because my contract was only valid for a year I found myself out of a job. I was also pregnant.”

In my head, I just didn’t think it was a good fit. I was a little afraid to be honest, and just kept thinking it was for big men so wouldn't suit me. I decided to take the course for the PSA licence anyway, went for the interview with Provincial and here I am. I’m a security officer for one of the world’s biggest companies in Dublin.”

“I have never felt uncomfortable in my job because I am a woman; nobody patronises me or tells me how to do something. If you’re a woman that wants to work in security, you don't need to be afraid. You only have to use your empathy, give one hundred percent and you’ll be great.”
“I have been with Provincial for six months now and I know that the prospects of progression here are good. I hope to build a career with the company. Certainly, I’m the type of person who likes to get on and go bigger so I would like that very much.”
